About ISMTA
We welcome all music teachers!
The Illinois State Music Teachers Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization affiliated with the Music Teachers National Association.
In keeping with our fundamental purposes of ensuring access to music study for all students and promoting a vital and enlightened music culture for all people, ISMTA is committed to welcoming members to its organization and participants in its events from all ages, races, ethnicities, religions, genders, orientations, identities, abilities, and marital statuses.
ISMTA is dedicated to enhancing the quality of music education and promoting musical culture in our communities. We provide opportunities for development and growth to our members and their students, including:
- Student recitals, competitions, assessments and festivals
- National Certification program
- Local, State and National conferences and professional meetings with guest speakers
- Outreach activities.
